Event & Suicide Pool Descriptions :

1) Event Pools :

This pool requires that you pick the fighters offered in the event that you expect to win... we'll try to keep the picks limited to 5 or 6 fights per event.

This pool does not continue and a winner(s) is / are determined after the event.

Prizes :

1st Place : 15,000
2nd Place : 7,500
3rd Place : 3,750

The top 3 players will win the prize amounts available after the event and if there are ties, the prizes wil be divided between the winning players.

If there is only one 1st Place winner & a tie for 2nd Place, the players tied for 2nd Place will split the 2nd & 3rd Place amounts and there will be no other prize amounts awarded.

If a 2-way tie for 1st Place occurs, the 2 players tied for 1st Place will split the 1st & 2nd Place prize amounts and there will only be the 3rd Place amount available for the player or players in 3rd Place.

If 3 or more players tie for 1st Place, those players will split the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place prize amounts.

Detailed rules will be stated in the first post of each pool that is open to our members.

2) Suicide Pools :

Players must pick one winner for each of the fights offered in the Suicide Pool on the Main Card & the winning fighter on the fight offered in the Suicide Pool on the Under Card.

No need to pick the method or round, but two or more incorrect picks eliminates a player from the pool.

This event continues until there is a winner(s)... if everybody loses, the game continues until there is a clear winner(s).

Prizes :

1st Place : 10,000
2nd Place : 5,000
3rd Place : 2,500

The top 3 players will win the prize amounts available after each round and if there are ties, the prizes wil be divided between the winning players after each round.

If a 2-way tie for 1st Place occurs, the 2 players tied for 1st Place will split the 1st & 2nd Place prize amounts and there will only be the 3rd Place amount available for the player or players in 3rd Place.

If 3 or more players tie for 1st Place, those players will split the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place prize amounts and there will be no other prize amounts awarded for that round... and the pool continues until there is a clear single 1st Place winner.

If there is only one 1st Place winner & a tie for 2nd Place, the players tied for 2nd Place will split the 2nd & 3rd Place amounts and there will be no other prize amounts awarded for that round.

If there is only 1 player that remains in the pool, that player is the winner of the Suicide Pool and collects the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place amounts.

The players that continue on to the next round will be elligible to win the progressive Prize amounts in each of the successive rounds.

In each successive round of the Suicide Pools the Prize amounts double from the previous round, until there are either 1, 2 or 3 winners... so the Suicide Pool ends when there are 3 or fewer players left and a clear 1st Place winner is evident.

Detailed rules will be stated in the first post of each pool that is open to our members.

Note :

Eventually we'll have different types of Suicide & Event Pools, but just to get things going we'll start out with these two types of Pools.

The rules for the Pools will change just a bit as the site develops & evolves, these first two types of pools are both fairly basic and every member is invited to play.

Sounds interesting, I'm in for sure. Have you guys thought of how the Crypt Cash will have value. How about if I get upto 1,000,000 I get the Crypt hammer and can suspend anyone I want for 2 week.

Not sure about that... you'll have to check with GURU & Misfit.

Hmmm, that could be a bit much but maybe we could start some type of avatar/sig buying/stealing. You donate a mil to them and you get to put any avatar for them for a week. Hmmm, could be interesting. ;) We will have to think about that one for a bit Jim.

OK guys... I've been working on the rules for the Suicide & Event Pools so we can try to get this going for Rampage vs. Evans.

I tried to make the rules as clear as possible, but If there are any questions fire away.

I still have to work-out the XML and spreadsheet aspect of this, but if that doesn't workout I'll probably do this manually.

When I get things done, I'll post a thread titled :

MMA Crypt Suicide Pool I : UFC 114 - Rampage vs. Rashad (Round I)

I love the suicide pool but I would double the winning Rich since they carry over a while. But I think the Event poll is too much like the Prediction contest and it's going to confuse folks again. They are just a little too similar IMO. I'm not saying no but it confused a lot of us last time, me included. I would think you should just replace your even pool with the Prediction contest. If you want to call it Event Prediction Pool, that's fine, I just don't want to confuse people.

The prize amounts in the Suicide Pools doubles in each successive round, and they can go on for several rounds... so it would go like this :

Round 1 Prizes :

1st Place : 10,000
2nd Place : 5,000
3rd Place : 2,500

Round 2 Prizes :

1st Place : 20,000
2nd Place : 10,000
3rd Place : 5,000

Round 3 Prizes :

1st Place : 40,000
2nd Place : 20,000
3rd Place : 10,000

Round 4 Prizes :

1st Place : 80,000
2nd Place : 40,000
3rd Place : 20,000

It's not uncommon for the Suicide Pools to go on for 6 rounds or more.

So the potential to rake-in tons crypt cash is there... it just starts out low.

We can hold-off on the Event Pools, but it's basically just one round of a Suicide Pool without having to pick the :

1) Winner
2) Round
3) Method

IMO, this gives newer members a better chance at having a winning night of fights to pick-up some crypt cash.

Personally, I don't always know enough about all of the fighters in some of the B-level organizations to merit a solid decision on the method, round, and sometimes even the fighters !

gotcha, so does every round of the suicide pool pay out?

Oh wait, are you saying that if the pool last 3 rounds, it goes to the round 3 winnings and rounds 1 and 2 don't pay. That makes sense, I like that.

No... the Suicide Pools pay-out in every round, just like we did in the old days.

That way it encourages more members to play.

So if 20 people enter and 15 people pick a winning fighter round 1, you split up 10k between the 15 guys? Then round 2, 10 more advance, you pay 2k each of them. That could equal a bit of work.

Rich Davie

Not all players get paid... only the top 3 places.

As long as each player picks less than 2 fights incorrectly, they'll continue in the pool... but they don't get paid unless they have the best record of picking fighters for that round.

If 10 players tie for first, then those 10 players will split the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place awards but not the players who would then be in 11th place if the 1st Place players got all picks correct and the 11th place players got even just 1 pick incorrect.

The 11th Place players wouldn't collect for that round, but would be able to continue in the Pool in hopes of collecting in the following round, which is the reason for the progressive Prize awards.

I know it might sound confusing when thinking in terms of XML & Spreadsheet data, and in that regard it is but after we play a few rounds it'll become much more clear.

Crap, sorry, it works a little different than the NFL Suicide pools that I'm used to. Those work where you pick 1 team/fighter to win per week/event. Your fighter/team wins, you are still in. It's all good, I will enter whatever you set up.

OK... I got that app installed.

I'll give it a shot in a bit, but I wasn't able to sleep last night and I've been awake now for about 36 hours... I'm kinda burnt-out right about now.

I've got it done and waiting to be posted... I still want to tweak it out a bit before I post it.

It looks kinda bland.
