06/02/10 - Fedor vs. Aleks possible next month
Fedor Emelianenko and his brother Aleksander will be competing in the Russian Combat Smabo Championships next month, Fighters Only has learned. The two brothers are in the heavyweight division and a source at their camp says they are prepared to fight each other should they need to.
Fedor is a four-time champion in this completion. Combat Sambo is very similar to MMA, except participants wear safety equipment such as headguards and also wear a gi jacket, testament to the strong influence Judo had in the origins of the sport.
The event takes place over the weekend of 19th to 22nd February in Krasnokamsk, Russia and will attract all the top Combat Sambo competitors from around the world. Previous encounters between the two Emelianenko brothers in a judo setting have seen Fedor come out on top.
