My Avs are out but still watching hockey.

Well, first I'm an avs team but I'm kinda lucky cause their are really 3 teams that I like.
1st. Avs, just spent the most time living here so I follow them the most.
2nd. Caps, was living in MD for a couple of years and got to watch Ovi coming up and he reminded me a lot of Forsberg so I became a big fan.
3rd. Pens, I was living out in Ohio and they went on a run a bunch of years ago with Mario and such so I still like them.

It's weird cause I'm usually not like this with sports, I usually live and die with 1 team. But it's kinda cool cause for me with the major sports, there's nothing better than Playoff Hockey. But the Avs made a good run, they were shitbad last year and super young this year, it was good for them to get a little playoff experience.

I'm the same way about football teams. I'm a big Broncos fan but I love Peyton Manning. I think it's because I grew up in SE Michigan and all we had for decent sports teams-were the Red Wings.

go ahead guys bash me but hockey on TV just isnt my thing really. i can and do watch it, but not my favorite by a long shot. now live, thats something COMPLETELY different.

No bashing here, NHL is really a hard sport to follow on TV. I still like it and don't think there is anything in the sports world more exciting than OT Playoff Hockey. I'm a huge Bronco fan but Hockey on TV is much more exciting to watch IMO. I enjoy football but the blood running level of Hockey is higher for me.

It's killing me, I didn't expect much from my avs but thought the caps would make it deep this year. After the Caps, the only team I have left are the Pens and that kills my cause my girl is a huge Crosby fan.

LOL. Canadains get a good laugh when we hear this. We watch so much hockey from the time we are young that following the puck is never a problem. Back in the 90's when FOX sports started broadcasting the NHL they made the puck appear like it was larger and glowing so the American viewers could follow it.

Well, being in the heart of Canada, hockey is like a religion!! We see it as our sport, and as the dominance at the World Juniors and Olympic Gold suggests, we are pretty damn good at it. The rest of the world is catching up quickly though.
New Jersey fan here, and quite sad we were the first team eliminated from the playoffs this year. Not really cheering for any 1 team, maybe San Jose...as long as the Habs don't win I am good.

Well, our HD tv blew up about a week ago and I hadn't watched any hockey. Sorry but going from a 50 DLP to a 35 tube was just too much. But we picked up a 55 LCD yesterday, I say we when I should say the girl did, I'm freaking broke ;) But I plan on watching game 7 tonight, go pens. At least I think that's tonight.

I've been fortunate, living where I live, to have met many NHL players, some just for a quick hello and autograph, others for a 10-15 min conversation, and some to sit down and have a drink with....out of all the players I've met, I would put Probie right near the top. He was a total class act, extremley humble, and down to earth...A great guy!
