After 10 years in the game, The Ultimate Fighter continues to march on. Tryouts for the twenty-second American season of UFC's flagship reality show are slated to be held on Sunday, March 29 at the Palace Station in Las Vegas, NV, the UFC announced Wednesday.

Male fighters competing in both the lightweight and welterweight divisions are welcome to attend. All applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 34, and are required to hold a winning record with a minimum of three verifiable professional fights.

Information for potential applicants can be found here.

Filming for TUF 22 is scheduled to begin sometime in May. The show is expected debut this September on FOX Sports 1.

Past seasons of The Ultimate Fighter have spawned numerous UFC champions and title challengers, most recently including T.J. Dillashaw, Carla Esparza and John Dodson.

Two new iterations of the show are already in production. TUF 21: American Top Team vs. Blackzilians is set to debut on April 21 and, for the first time, will pit two of the country's top mixed martial gyms against one another in dramatic departure from the series' traditional format.

TUF Latin America 2, featuring coaches of Mexican descent Kelvin Gastelum and Efrain Escudero, is also slated to begin filming this month and will debut in Latin American markets and on UFC Fight Pass in August.

Coaches for TUF 22, and whether the show expects to return to its regular format, are at this point unannounced.

I didn't know Gastelum & Escudero were doing the next Latin America...bit of a step down from Cain and Werdum. Also surprising since it likely won't have the coaches fight eachother, since Escudero is a LW and Gastelum has been told to movfe up to MW.

Surprised Escudero got the gig, he's flitted in and out of the UFC for a few years now......thought they'd go with someone a bit more reliable!

Like they did with Mayhem Miller?

Then again shooting my own argument down in flames, Miller was at least entertaining back then, made for good viewing

As much of a quack as Miller was, I thought he was one of the better coaches ever
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

Probably because they are also the easiest divisions to find some decent talent in.

We'd all love to see a HW season, but the problem is there is simply no talent out there.......and it would likely end up full of blown up LHW's too!
