If it turns out that there were no injuries with Chiesa OR ANYONE....then it was a publicty stunt likely kept from most involved.....but if this was as it appears...then as Merc said above, they should ALL feel pretty dumb....I really hope this isnt what the future of the UFC is offering...

Did you just compare Weinstein sexually assaulting and threatening women in double digits for over 20 years in Hollywood to a petty skirmish between and Irishman and a Russian where a chair was thrown through a bus window?

This is the fight game where guys like the Diaz brothers are rockstars over this kind of behavior. Werdum just threw a boomerang at a WW. Khabib and the Diaz brothers have had drinks thrown around at each other in public. Conor and Nate's team had a water bottle war. Chiesa, the guy you all are so worried about attacked another fighter at a press conference for crying out loud just a few months ago. I could go on and on about skirmishes outside of the cage. Bones attacked Cormier at a media showing.

So much hypocrisy going on right now, and it's hilarious.

This is always what has sold for the UFC, SF, and Pride. Fans love these types of shenanigans. You all get more amped up for their fights.

Where was this same disdain when Werdum was throwing boomerangs at a guy's face in Australia? Where was the outrage for fighter safety when Joe Stevens tried to attack and run through several people to get to Conor after getting embarrassed by him at the press conference? Didn't hear a peep about fighter violence and safety then.

I pointed out how incorrect and stupid a statement of, "No such thing as bad publicity" is by using big example to counter that.

The major difference is this was gang related, and it wasn't just a fighter who got injured and hurt. There was large backlash against Werdum and there's always been backlash against Diaz brothers. Stephens and Chiesa incidents also didn't lead to anything, security was there and it was no where near as bad.

Another big difference, this was calculated. Other incidents heat of the moment situations. McGregor travelled from Dublin, to do this. Was calculated.

It's not hypocrisy, it's a complete different situation judged on its own accord.

Chiesa and Ray Borg will no longer be fighting due to injuries. That's 3 fights off the card thanks to McGregor and a 4th affected heavily imo because of Rose incident too.

This is a legit complaint. I'll give you that. The fight card was already fucked though. Is it really that bad of what happened to the UFC all together though? Their fight cards are fucked the majority of the time with injuries. They lost the main event between these two guys for like the 3rd time now. Then Holloway gets injured too? How more pathetic can the UC be the majority of the time? Conor basically did what happens organically to them all the time. Hell, the UFC would have had a great opportunity after this to talk about Khabib non stop and make the casual public well aware of who he is, but they can't even get their replacement fighter to not pull out. They don't do anything to combat this problem, so what Conor did was actually make this card relevant and the UFC in news headlines everywhere. Yeah, what he did was scummy but it's also why he's now bigger than anything the sport can promote now days, because fans love this stuff. They don't admit most of the time, but it's what makes them get excited for fights.

Also, everyone is crying about Chiesa, and it sucks that he isn't able to perform due to the cuts. However, are we forgetting that Chiesa attacked Kevin Lee in the middle of a press conference putting his fighting license and health in jeopardy? He also put other fighters in jeopardy as well had he fallen over on someone or if one of their elbows landed towards someone near them. Chiesa has also been aggressively violent himself where he didn't care about himself, the other fighter, or anyone else around them so these incidents happen way more than people realize or want to admit for some reason. It's been the culture of MMA forever. The selective outrage gets really annoying. People need to be consistent in what they're willing to accept. You saying security was there doesn't change anything. It could have ended differently. The attempt to hurt someone else still took place.

Khabib and Nate Diaz's crews had melees all weekend long all over Vegas which was gang related, and the exact same types of scenarios where outside people not involved could have gotten hurt. Maybe you should watch that footage all over again and be reminded of what exists around this sport. Khabib has a history of being involved in these things, and no one is talking about that for some reason.

Chiesa did get shit for that. Despite security being there to break it up (Which is a massive difference imo, fighters don't tend to do anything when security isn't there) he did indeed get shit for that. As for Khabib, I've already commented shitting on him also. All parties should be embarrassed by what happened. It's been a massive shit show.

Future of what the UFC has been offering? It's what you've been fed for years and have been supporting. Again, I just listed a long timeline of violent occurrences between fighters. Look at who are the most popular fighters in the sport over the last 10 years.

Bones, Bisping, Diaz brothers, Conor, Lesnar, GSP, Rampage, Anderson, Chael.

    Notice a pattern there.

As long as you're willing to judge the majority of them equally and take the same approach.

But at the end of the day, you're still watching all of their fights and so is everyone else. People watch this stuff more after this kind of thing happens, and are making it more popular to do so. The articles get more clicks for people to watch the video footage, the news stations get more ratings for covering the action or the round table discussions, and the fight hype becomes way more heightened which in the end creates higher PPV numbers. The UFC rewards guys who create ratings by any means necessary. We all know that. Until fans actually stop watching or boycott certain fighters for that, then the UFC will continue to reward the behavior.

Holloway wasn't injured, that wasn't the reason for his removal.....the rest of it.......
